The CVT claw washer is a one-time-use component. The washer is designed to deform during installation as part of its locking function.
Once the claw washer has been installed and subsequently removed, it MUST NOT be reused.
Removal changes and deforms the locking features of the washer, preventing it from providing the intended retention when reinstalled.
Service Requirement:
Any time the claw washer is removed—for inspection, repair, adjustment, or disassembly—discard the used washer and install a new claw washer during reassembly.
DO NOT straighten, reshape, or reinstall a used claw washer.
